The Rhode Island Innovative Policy Lab at Brown University is a collaboration between Brown University and the Office of the Governor in Rhode Island to develop evidence-based policy using state-of-the-art research. RIIPL analysts work closely with Director Justine Hastings and the Brown Data Science team, as well as faculty research affiliates Lint Barrage, John Friedman, Emily Oster and Jesse Shapiro. RIIPL provides a unique opportunity to use data science and economics to impact society through improved public policy. Team members combine economics, data and computer science around big data resources, applying and developing their skills and talents to tackle some of the most pressing social problems.
